YASMINE’s story
February 2025
Yasmin (Alias), 13, is attending the Basic Literacy and Numeracy (BLN) classes under the “Back to the Future” project in central Bekaa. She has never attended school before.
Yasmin had a health condition that caused frequent school absences, hindering her progress and connection with the school environment. Through collaboration between teachers, the center supervisor, and her parents, a holistic approach was implemented, including individual sessions, curriculum reviews, and ongoing support.
After transitioning to a remote learning modality during the war in Lebanon, Yasmin’s family recognized that this learning method offered her a chance to catch up on what she had been missing. Yasmin showed remarkable improvement by becoming more interactive and engaged during lessons.
Today, Yasmin’s academic results show significant improvement, setting an example of how commitment, academic support, and family encouragement can lead to the flourishing of a child’s learning journey.
