World Children’s Day 2020
303 million children 5-17 years old are out of school worldwide according to Unicef.In countries affected by conflict or disaster, 1 in 3 are out of school.Children’s right to education is partly ensured through guaranteeing a safe learning space.
There are various aspects for children’s wellbeing: cognitive, social, emotional and physical. The development of sensory skills and discovery is one of the essential components of children’s wellbeing.
The Convention on the Rights of the Child was adopted by the United Nations (UN) General Assembly on 20 November 1989. With more than 190 member states having ratified it, this Convention is the most widely and rapidly adopted international treaty.
With the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic, children are turning to digital solutions in education, and often left unsupervised. More than a third of young people in 30 countries report being cyberbullied, with 1 in 5 skipping school because of it, according to Unicef.
